Roadsigns to Heaven
1. You are a sinner.

God has created us to go one way and we have gone another. It started right with Adam in the garden and has continued to us today. To get to heaven you must believe that you have sinned. Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

2. Our sin has a price to pay.

Heaven is a holy place. Sin will not get in. No one, on their own merits, is ready for heaven. Romans 6:23 reads “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” You must believe that you owe God a debt.


3. Christ paid that price. The price is death. Jesus died for you. It’s as direct as that. Romans 5:8 tells us that God showed us His love for us “in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” There is an exit sign on the road to destruction; it is Christ’s payment for your sins on the cross.

4. You must trust Him.

The Bible says that you receive His gift of eternal life when you trust in Him. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Notice in this verse that confessing is not just with your mouth (saying some magic words in a prayer). If you will truly forsake all other loves and trust in what He did for you at Calvary, you will be saved. Yield your allegiance to Him.

This is the road to heaven according to the promises of a God who never lies. You have been given directions to a wonderful place. I hope to see you there one day.
